Pelin Sönmez

After completing her primary and secondary education in İzmir, she graduated from Başkent University Department of Political Science and International Relations. In 2002, she started her graduate education in the field of European Union in Dokuz Eylül University Institute of Social Sciences, and she worked as a research assistant at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In 2006, she completed his Ph.D. program, which she started at European Union Institute of Social Sciences, Istanbul University. Since 2014 she has been working as an academic member in the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Nişantaşı University. Global current problems, European Union and Turkey, integration theory and international organizations, global system crises, Turkey’s social structure are among the lectures she gives. Between 2008 and 2009, she carried out the coordination of a vocational training project for women, funded by the European Union and carried out by the Municipality of Kadıköy; she also assumed the role of coordinator for a European Union project under the Democracy and Human Rights Education Program between 2013 and 2014. Also, the researcher continues to serve as a consultant to some projects funded by different institutions. Since 2006, Pelin Sönmez has voluntarily worked in international relations and related projects in the Economist Platform.
